Advocacy Efforts and Upcoming Opportunities to Participate
Self-Advocacy Committee
The Self-Advocacy Committee at Maryhaven is made up of individuals we support along with staff from our programs and services. Established in July 2019 by Keith Frain, Senior Director of Day Habilitation and Residential Services, the committee was created to provide a formal platform for advocacy across the agency.

The committee meets monthly and organizes events that empower participants to share their voices, raise concerns, and actively contribute to Maryhaven’s growth and development. Through these efforts, the Self-Advocacy Committee strengthens our culture of inclusion, ensuring that the people we support play an important role in shaping the future of our agency.
At Maryhaven, we believe that advocacy fosters independence, dignity, and participation for everyone. The Self-Advocacy Committee reflects this belief by creating opportunities for individuals to be heard and make meaningful contributions to their community.
